Sometimes, we lose heart and the troubles of the world seem to overtake us. Anxious thoughts flood our mind and peace seems to be distant, and out of our reach.
It is in these times that we need to fix our thoughts on the goodness of the Lord, our God. He is still god. He will still calm the raging sea within our soul.
This has got to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
"Be Still My Soul" by Sela
Be still my soul, the Lord is on your side.
This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.
Some days... "life can be so hard". Today this song reminded me of when I had to just trust that my life was in God's hands.
Sherry, this is for you: "My Life is in Your Hands" by Kathy Trocolli
The lyrics:
Life can be so good
Life can be so hard
Never knowing what each day
Will bring to where you are
Sometimes I forget
And sometimes I can't see
That whatever comes my way
You'll be with me
My life is in your hands
My heart is in your keeping
I'm never without hope
Not when my future is with you
My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands
Nothing is for sure
Nothing is for keeps
All I know is that your love
Will live eternally
So I will find my way,
And I will find my peace
Knowing that you'll meet my every need
My life is in your hands
My heart is in your keeping
I'm never without hope
Not when my future is with you
My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands
When I'm at my weakest love
You carry me
Then I become my strongest love
In your hands
My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands
I trust you Lord
This video, "By His Wounds", was taken during the Glory Revealed Tour. The Christian concert was held at several venues around the United States. Among those venues was my church, Mount Paran Church of God, where I attended the concert with some close friends. What an awesome concert it was!
This featured song from the tour (and the CD it produced) won the Gospel Music Association's Dove Award for the Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year. Along with that, the music also won Special Event Album of the Year.
The musicians in the band are a compilation of singer/songwriters from well-established Christian Contemporary groups. The lead singer is Mac Powell of "Third Day", a popular Christian band. One of the backup singers in this video is Brian Littrell, who was formerly with the Backstreet Boys.
The message is... "by His wounds we are healed" ...which tells us that it is only by Jesus' suffering on the Cross of Calvary that heals us from sin. As you watch, listen to the rest of the words in the song.
